Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Acta Geoturistica follows the highest standards of publication ethics. Therefore, before submitting your manuscript to Acta Geoturistica journal, please carefully read following publication ethics and malpractice statement.
Ethic statements are based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines.
Editor duties:
Each article is a subject of a double blind peer review. Author(s) will receive article reviews with comments and suggestion to revise the manuscript (if necessary). If at least one of reviewers considers that the article does not fulfils the scientific terms of publication or it does not meet the journal aims and scope, Editorial board of the Acta Geoturistica journal can refuse the article publication.
Based on manuscript reviews, the editor can accept the publication of the manuscript, refuse it, or request modifications to the manuscript.
An editor evaluates manuscripts solely for their intellectual content without regard to gender, sexual orientation, race, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, and/or political philosophy of the author(s).
Journal editors must ensure that information and data in manuscripts submitted to the journal is kept confidential and will not be used for personal advantage of the editor.
An editor must not use unpublished information in the editor's own research or for without the express written consent of the manuscript author.
Author Duties:
Submission of a manuscript requires that:
- submitted manuscript is original work of the author(s);
- the work or its substantial part has not been published before;
- the work has not been sent for consideration to other journal;
- all co-authors have approved the publication in the Acta Geoturistica journal and are prepared to take full public responsibility for their work;
- authors cite all relevant publications that have been used in the research or influenced the work, including own previously published work;
- the article contains no libellous, defamatory or unlawful statements.
Authors are required to ensure that no part of a manuscript (text, figures, tables, etc.) infringes existing copyrights, or the rights of a third party. Submitting author is responsible for the article during the submission and peer review process.
All authors should disclose financial or other conflict of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript (financial support for the project should be disclosed).
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
Submission of a manuscript to Acta Geoturistica implies that all authors have read and agreed to its content.
Reviewer duties:
Reviewer of the manuscript submitted to the Acta Geoturistica journal are bound to keep it as confidential material and must not use the information obtained through peer review for personal advantage.
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
Reviewers must ensure that authors have acknowledged all sources of data used in the research. A reviewer should also inform the editor about any notable similarity or overlap between the manuscript under his/her consideration and any other published paper of which he/she has personal knowledge.
Any reviewer who feels unqualified to review the manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the Editorial Board so as to excuse himself from the review process.
Reviewers must not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest which result from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
